38 years ago this week, Echo and the Bunnymen released their fourth studio album Ocean Rain. The album was recorded in Paris (1983) using a 35 piece orchestra.
Ocean Rain by Echo and the Bunnymen is probably the greatest album of the 1980s. This is EATB at their finest—an incredibly well produced album with haunting lyrics and layered with evocative sounds. I find the album very spiritual.
In 2008, Pam and I were fortunate to see the Ocean Rain 30th Anniversary show (with a full orchestra) at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
